  • Another WSOP Bracelet Goes To Phil Ivey

    Ivey is a poker legend and one of the very best players in this modern game. Six WSOP bracelets won by Phil is just proving his status.

    Ivey won his 7th gold bracelent after finishing first among 375 other players. Phil’s patience and determination earned him a spot at the final table where he knocked players out of the tournament one by one. Ivey went head to head with Ming Lee in the final round and won with trip queens.

  • Online Poker eChecks Problem Resolved?

    Some posts in forums (2+2, pocketfives, pokerforums) claim that players were able to deposit with echecks on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker sites. It is still not clear if cash-outs will go through as it may take a while before players try to risk cashing-out through echecks to verify.

    Even through it is still not clear whether the problem is fully solved, it seems that everything is getting back to normal in the world of online poker.

    Some reports also claimed Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars have started reimbursing their players who were affected by this situation.

    WSOP official sponsor Everest Poker redesigned its website. Navigation became easier and all the latest offers and promotions are at user’s fingertips.

    New website will also boast the addition of a stronger community section offering a greater transparency of the huge array of exclusive events and access to live action that only Everest Poker offer players all year round.

  • PKR Poker Player Finishes 7th In WSOP Event

    PKR, the only 3D poker room online, player ‘James 666′ finished 7th in the WSOP $2,500 No Limit six handed event and won over $54,000.

    James lost to Joe Serock who denied him a place on the final table. Nevertheless, James can be proud as he managed to beat some of the games pro’s and former WSOP bracelet winners.

    James said, “Going into the tournament Andrew Teng told me I had a good shot. The first table I sat at was unbelievably soft so I used a lot of aggression I learned from cash games to build up a nice stack early on. It gave me a lot of confidence and by midday yesterday it felt like I knew I was going to win it.”

  • Additions To Pokerstars Pro Team

    World biggest poker site PokerStars.com has got several new additions to their already impressive pro-team roster. New faces include WSOP champion Peter Eastgage and runner-up Ivan Demidov as well as Maria Mayrinck and Leo Fernandez.

    Each of these players have impressive lists of achievements that brought them recognition in the poker world.

    PokerStars Pro Team also includes poker greats like Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, and Isabelle Mercier to name a few.

  • Female WSOP Event Winner

    Lisa Hamilton, a woman originally from Hawaii, claimed the first-place prize of $195,390 and a World Series of Poker winner’s bracelet at 2009 Ladies Poker Championship in Las Vegas. The buy-in was $1,000, and Hamilton outlasted 1,059 other entrants.

    Hamilton came to watch a friend play and didn’t plan to enter this tournament. “I entered at the last minute,” Hamilton said. “I kept telling my friend, ‘I’m not playing.’ I decided to play and I don’t even know how I made it this far. I’m shocked.’”

    Hamilton said she will enter the WSOP main event.

  • Another WSOP Winner

    Ken Aldridge, former high school teacher, became Event 9 WSOP winner. Aldridge, 57, is a recreational player from Pleasant Garden, North Carolina and has only cashed in two major poker tournaments. This event was his first WSOP cash. He said he’s only played shorthanded when players are eliminated, but still believed he played nearly perfect poker.

    “I really don’t think I made many mistakes,” Aldridge said to the WSOP. “I was very happy with how things went. I think I was behind only one time the whole tournament when I was all-in”

    Ken won $428,259 in the event.

  • Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars Experience eCheck Problems

    It was reported last week that the United States Attorney out of New York has managed to shut down an eCheck processor for Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.

    Full Tilt Poker has not been upfront with its customers and suggested the problem was only temporary. PokerStars, world’s largest online poker room, told its players right off the bat that the processor in question had its funds froze.

    There should be more news on this subject this week.

    Dario Minieri was the first player at PokerStars who used Frequent Player Points to buy a car. Second lucky owner of Porsche is Brad Sweezey, Canadian Forex Trader. He accumulated enought FPPs to buy a new car.

    PartyPoker offers its players the opportunity to win large with Million Dollar Hand promotion.
