Filthy Bingo the new generation

Bingo has long been based on fanciful naming where individuals in Bingo halls in many countries invent comical and frequently ribald calls for selected numbers. It’s one of several old fashioned and long-lasting traits of this fashionable game of odds, so much so, men and women from all areas of life stake their own reputations on their particular Bingo call-ability!

The internet Bingo sorority, however, seems to have acquiesced towards the dull convention of straight number calling, generated in electronic format. Pundits assert that with all the grubby dosh up for grabs, Bingo calling should otherwise be taken seriously. Careless and entertaining Bingo number names are put on the back burner on the internet and replaced with the serious acquisition of substantial progressive jackpots – where’s the enjoyment in this?

There are also shocking accusations of chauvinism, bigotry and every other ism you can think of in land-based Bingo calling. The number 88, as an example, has long been referred to as ‘Two fat ladies’ or ‘wobbly wobbly’, for the reason that the circular shape of the number is reminiscent of a buxom, corpulent feminine form. How can that be sexist or bothersome when global numbers demonstrate being overweight is on a sizeable upward pattern?

The letter eighty may be called in many alternatives including Ghandi’s Breakfast as he ate (8) practically nothing()! This Bingo call has allegedly raised the ire of Indians the world-over who are convinced the late political and non secular leader of India has been rather roundly cheated. The facts of the issue is Ghandi did fast for long periods of time as both a means of protest and do-it-yourself purification and, let’s be realistic, he was a little, runt of a gentleman!

Quite honestly, Bingo without traditional Bingo calling is a little bit of a bore, so we’ve selected a handful of calls that are undoubtedly worthwhile passing on to the next Bingo era.
